Woman Bootlegger Caught with Alcohol in Jaipur
In the area of Malpura Gate police station in Jaipur, a team of the Crime Investigation Department (CID) has arrested a female liquor smuggler while conducting a raid.
The police have recovered approximately 10 bottles of illegal country-made liquor and beer of various brands and a sales amount of 2,700 INR from her possession. During preliminary investigation, it was revealed that the accused woman used to sell alcohol illegally to customers after the closure of the licensed liquor shops at night.
Local people had complained about this several times to the Malpura Gate police station, but no action was taken. Eventually, they contacted the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Crime, who initiated the raid.
DCP Crime Jyestha Maitry confirmed that the woman, identified as Gora Devi, a resident of Shikarpur Phatak, Mehndawas district, Tonk, was arrested for her involvement in the illegal liquor trade.
The accused woman had no license to sell the illegal liquor, and she has admitted to supplying the illegal liquor to her customers after the licensed shops had closed. Currently, the investigation is ongoing.
