Jaipur : The second season of the biggest global singing competition for doctors - 'Voice of Doctors' kicked off at the Rajasthan International Centre (RIC) on Friday. Doctors from all over the country got a platform to showcase their musical talent. This competition is being organised with the aim of providing a platform to the musical talent of doctors from all over the world and promoting the spirit of unity, creativity and stress relief among the medical community.
On the first day, Dr. Neha Pant of Uttarakhand sang the song 'Gajab Ka Hai Din' and received a lot of applause from the participants. Later, Dr. Partha Nandi of Uttar Pradesh rendered the song 'Hai Rama'. Dr. Jitendra Makkar of Jaipur presented the song 'Nazar Ke Samne'. Dr. Dheeraj Singh of Maharashtra won the applause of doctors from all over the country by singing 'Bheegi-Bheegi Si Hai Raatein'. Dr. Renuka Patil of Maharashtra performed the song 'Aao Na Gale Lag Jao Na' in her melodious voice. Dr. Ashish Lakhote of Delhi created a pleasant atmosphere by singing 'Mere Sapno Ki Rani Kab Aayegi Tu'.
As many as 28 doctors from abroad are participating in the competition. Some of the prominent names among them are USA's renowned oncologist, Dr. Anshu Maharshi and child psychologist Dr. Manpreet Khemka, Kenya's Dr. Manish Kalla, Oman's Dr. Jagdish Kumar, Dr. Sucheta and Dr. Priya Pratapan Nair. Dr. Hemant Thakral (UK), winner of the above 55 years category of the first edition of the competition, is also participating in the competition. His performance will also be seen in the grand finale on Sunday.
Organising Committee Chairman, Dr. Jitendra S Makkar informed that more than 7000 doctors from all over the world are participating in this competition. Its pre-finale round will be held on Saturday at the Jaipur Engineering College and Research Center (JECRC) located in Sitapura. The grand finale will be held on Sunday at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Center (JECC) of Sitapura. Organising committee secretary, Dr. Saurabh Jain informed that the grand finale on Sunday will feature playback singer and TV personality, Sa Re Ga Ma Mega Finale 1998 winner,Mohammad Vakil; Doctorate in Music, Dr. Gaurav Jain and Rajasthan's Nightingale, singer Seema Mishra. Music mentor of 'Voice of Doctors', Dr. Gaurav Jain informed that this competition is being organised in three age groups - under 40, 40-55 years and above 55 years.
