Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat to file defamation case against Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot
Gehlot raised questions about the whereabouts of the money that was taken from investors, and pointed out that only ED can confiscate property, not SOG.
In a recent statement made by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in Jaipur, he accused Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat of cheating the common people and looting the money of the poor. Gehlot made these remarks during the platinum ceremony of SMS Medical College. He accused Shekhawat of scamming more than 953 crores with over two lakh investors in several states on Sanjivani Credit Cooperative Society Limited. Gehlot also stated that the money had gone to Ethiopia, and accused Shekhawat of being responsible for the scam.
In response to Gehlot's comments, Shekhawat announced that he would file a defamation case against the Chief Minister. Gehlot stated that if the Union Minister files a defamation case, at least the case will move forward, and it will be good for those who were not part of the discussion. Gehlot raised questions about the whereabouts of the money that was taken from investors, and pointed out that only ED can confiscate property, not SOG.
Gehlot also called on the Prime Minister and the Home Minister to take action against Shekhawat, stating that it was the central government's responsibility to deal with such issues. He criticized the ED for not taking action against Shekhawat, and questioned how such a person could remain a Union Minister. Gehlot further expressed his surprise that the Prime Minister had given a position in his cabinet to someone who was responsible for such a large scam.
Shekhawat's decision to file a defamation case is likely to escalate the issue further. The case will now be heard in Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court, and it remains to be seen what the outcome will be. The accusations of cheating and scamming are serious, and it is important for the truth to be revealed and justice to be served for the affected investors.
