Regular Hearing On Delhi Vs Center Case Will Be Held In Supreme Court From Today

Regular hearings will start on Tuesday in the matter related to the dispute between the Delhi government and the central government over the control of administrative services in the national capital Delhi. A 5-judge constitution bench comprising Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice MR Shah, Justice Krishna Murari, Justice Hema Kohli, and Justice PS Narasimha will hear the arguments of both sides.

The Center has the right to make appointments and transfers
At present, the right of appointment and transfer rests with the Central Government (Lt. Governor). At the same time, according to the Delhi government, if the Supreme Court's decision is to be believed, then the Central Government (Lt Governor) had got the right only in the police, land, and public order i.e. law and order.
