Massive Fire Breaks Out at Jaipur Factory, Over 12 Explosions Reported on Site
This morning fire broke out in the the basement of a carpet factory in the Chawand area of Amer Thana, caused panic in the nearby colony. On receiving information from a local resident, the police and fire brigade reached the spot. The fire was so intense that two JCBs were called to break down the walls of the basement. Firefighters then poured water inside to extinguish the flames.
The fire started in the basement of theg carpet factory located near mand nai Ki Thadi in the Chawand area of Amer Thana. As soon as the flames were seen, they quickly spread and engulfed the basement where lakhs of rupees worth of carpet material was stored. The fire was so intense that smoke could be seen coming out of the factory from the other side as well. Firefighters could not even enter the basement of the factory, so locals had to help break down the doors and walls.
Firefighters have been trying to control the fire since 5:30 am, but so far it has not been completely extinguished. Locals said thatg carpets are made in the factory and stored in the basement. After being made, the carpets are kept in the basement. Lakhs of rupees worth ofg carpets materials are stored in the basement, along with cans of chemicals used in the process. This is why the fire has been difficult to control.
