Driver burnt alive as trailer catches fire in Jaipur
On Tuesday morning in Jaipur, a trailer fell off the underpass while travelling on Ring Road. The 20-foot-high flyover fall caused a fire in the trailer. The trailer driver died due to being burned alive in the accident.
With the help of a crane, the police of Shivdas Pura station managed to control the fire. The dead body of the driver, who was trapped in the cabin of the damaged trailer, was extracted after much effort.
The police have kept the body for post-mortem at the mortuary of Mahatma Gandhi Hospital.According to SHO (Shivdas Pura) Om Prakash Matwa, the accident occurred around 5 AM near the Dhanai of Ring Road Boardia.
A trailer filled with iron angles was heading towards Ajmer Road from Kanota on the Agra Road. While going from Ring Road, the trailer fell off the underpass through an open cut made on the flyover.
As soon as the trailer fell about 20 feet below the Ring Road, a fire broke out in it. Passers-by informed the police after seeing the fire. Upon receiving the information about the accident, the police of Shivdas Pura station reached the spot.
After about 15 minutes of struggling with the help of a fire brigade, the police managed to control the fire. SHO Om Prakash Matwa reported that after controlling the fire in the trailer.
The driver's dead body was seen in the cabin. The driver had burned alive due to the fire in the trailer when it fell from the flyover.
