A grand Display of Indian Handloom and Handicraft Mastery at Shilpkaaree
A two-day exhibition, ‘Shilpkaaree’, a leading platform dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Indian handloom and handicrafts, was inaugurated with great pomp at Birla Auditorium of Jaipur.

Jaipur, 5 October : A two-day exhibition, ‘Shilpkaaree’, a leading platform dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Indian handloom and handicrafts, was inaugurated with great pomp at Birla Auditorium of Jaipur. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Chairperson of FICCI FLO, Jaipur, Raghushree Poddar; Chairwoman of CII-IWN Rajasthan, Nivedita R Sarda and President of FORTI Women Wing, Dr. Alka Gaur. On this occasion, the exhibition was inaugurated with chanting of mantras by Meditation Expert and Yagan Acharya, Nirmala Sewani. The exhibition is being held at the front lawns of Birla Auditorium on 5 and 6 October from 11 am to 8 pm.
Speaking on the occasion, Raghushree Poddar said, "Shilpkaaree brings together the essence of India's rich heritage under one roof. The diversity of artworks displayed here truly celebrates the craftsmanship that defines our nation. From the intricate weaves of Chanderi to the vibrant hues of Bandhani, every piece tells a story of tradition, creativity, and the enduring spirit of our artisans. This exhibition is more than a showcase—it is a tribute to the art and culture that make India what it is."
Founder of Shilpkaaree, Shilpi Bhargava, said that the exhibition is showcasing exquisite, handmade products of arts and crafts prepared by several national, international, and state award-winning artisans and artists. A wide range of handcrafted textiles are being showcased here, including famous handprints and paints like Ajrakh, Eco Print, and Kalamkari. Traditional embroidery works such as Applique and Tanka, Zardosi, Chikankari, Kashmiri, Phulkari and Kantha, are also being showcased. In addition, intricately woven textiles such as Ashavali Brocade, Chanderi, Tangaliya, Bhujodi, Jamdani, Himalayan Handloom, Kosa Silk, Maheshwari, Patola and Ikat are on display, as well as resist printing techniques like Batik, Bandhani, Shibori, and Itajime.
The exhibition features a wide range of products for visitors to explore, including Kilim accessories, handwoven cane products, sustainable coconut shell candles, ceramics, Chikankari accessories, Sabai grass products, handcrafted educational DIY kits for children, stained glass hand-painted crafts, handcrafted leather goods, and products by Kutch artisans, as well as traditional metalwork.
It is worth noting that Shilpkaaree aims to create a platform that bridges the gap between traditional artisans and modern consumers by connecting them. The initiative aims to promote sustainable fashion practices, empower artisans, reduce the environmental impact of the fashion industry and provide customers with excellent quality, timeless products. Through fair trade and ethical production, the organisation aims to create a positive social and environmental impact, contributing to the development of both artisans and communities.
